the awakened is a band that is rather hard to define. the song structure is unpredictable, but structured. in fact, one look at the bands line up will show that, the "traditional" formula for a band is distorted here. two singers and the inclusion of samples and electronics add to the chaos. also, a slide show is often included in the awakened's live performance. an attempt to capture this will be found on a soon to be released comp on Korova Milk Bar Records (RI) which also features page 99, usurp synapse, and Knives & Greenwater. also soon to be released is a self-produced 7".
